a diversity of cultural and educational backgrounds.

college or completing an apprenticeship in one dis-
cipline or medium, switched to another. Whenever
such major shifts in career orientation or discipline
occur the results can often be remarkable because
of the release of pent-up creative ideas and energy
which ensues. Of course, this invariably involves fur-
ther training focused on the acquisition of specialised
skills which enable the aspirant to pursue his or her
new artistic goal.
